ENTERPRISES

Income generating enterprises provide meaningful work for residents, but also contribute to the financial sustainability of Camphill Village. These enterprises consist of a dairy, bakery, cosmetics workshop, farm, horticulture and herb processing and produce the following products:

Residents are taught a variety of skills in producing the products, which are sold to the public. They are, thereby, able to make a valuable contribution to the day-to-day running of the enterprises giving them a sense of accomplishment, self worth, respect and dignity as they contribute toward the sustainability of Camphill Village.

All income-generating enterprises are committed to producing high quality products sold at the monthly market and at these outlets. An essential Camphill initiative is taking care of the land using organic/biodynamic methods, which is based on the teachings of Rudolf Steiner.

Camphill has been farming with a biodynamic approach for more than 30 years. The permaculture approach has also been used in a more general application to living on the land. Thus Camphill Village products have a reputation for quality and being produced using ecologically sound methods.
